Turbo Engine #8

Re assembled the turbo engine and fitted the freshly powder coated engine covers.

While the covers were off I checked tha cam timing. I found the inlet at about 111 and the exhaust at 122. These seem to be a mile out. I double checked with the pictures I took when I had dismantled the engine and the cams are in axactly the same position. So they must have been out by quite a way.

The stock cams in a turbo engine are supposed to be set to inlet at 100 and exhaust at 105.

As I need to take the engine apart to fit the billet output shaft and also to drop in the gen 2 crank, the engine will need to be re timed when I do this.
