First job is to remove the head and barrel and to have a good look at what condition the engine is in.
Removed the cam cover, set the engine to top dead centre. Dissapointed to see that the shaft plug and casing has been damaged while the car has been away, had to remove the starter cover to move the crank in to position.
Removed the dry sump tank and drained the oil using a vacuum pump, then covered the bottom half of the tank to avoid anything falling in. Removed the throttle bodies and disconnected the fuel rail.
Marked the cam chain, disconnected the tensioner, then removed the cams and followers. Undid the head bolts and then removed the head. Pistons look ok and will change the rings if I can get a set. Will need to get the part number from underneath the pistons.
