DIY Powder Coating #2

All parts are now ready for powder coat and have a used oven for baking on the powder coat.

Set the compressor to 50psi and connected the powder coating spray gun. Completed a test spray and adjusted the spray to get about an 8 inch powder spray. Set the oven to 180 deg C. Masked off the gasket faces and threads with high temperature masking tape.

Hung the engine casings with a length of wire, connected the ground strap and then sprayed with the powder until I had an even coating. Put the casings in to the oven and when the surface turned to gloss I timed 10 minutes and then removed the part to cool. While still warm I removed the masking tape.

I'm really pleased with the results so far and feel that it is well worth the effort.
